Gustav Elijah Åhr, better known by his stage name Lil Peep, was an American singer and rapper from the emo hip hop genre. He was born on November 1, 1996, in Virginia, USA, but was raised in Long Island, New York, and passed away on November 15, 2017, in Tucson, Arizona, USA, from an alleged overdose of Alprazolam.Lil Peep is considered one of the artists responsible for the revitalization of the post-emo style of music and for creating his own style of hip hop, which came to be known as "emo hip hop."
